He loves to fiddle.....(Deccan Herald Article)


Aneesh Vidyashankar (16), a student of Christ College has proved his talent as a child prodigy Sixteen years of age, is studying in Christ College.

Recognising his talent early, his parents nurtured and nourished him as early as a child of five years. He started learning violin at the age of six from his father S R Vidyashankar and soon learnt the finer aspects of violin playing. Inborn talent, rigorous practice, constant monitoring and encouragement from his parents enabled him to give his first violin solo concert (classical Carnatic style) at the age of eight.

He has given solo violin concerts at ISKCON, Mysore Music Association, Ramanavami festivals, Bangalore Gayana Samaj, Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore Club, Devnandan Ubhayaker Yuva Sangeet Utsav, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, SVN Music Academy, Karnataka Gana Kala Parishat, Percussive Arts Centre, Indian Institute of World Culture, Art festival sponsored by Toursim Dept, Govt of Karnataka to name a few.





He has performed for several Corporate Houses and has won wide acclaim. He has been featured in an interview and a violin programme on the television. He has given violin solo for Nada Programme on Udaya Channel and Doordarshan.

He has won first prize in the violin competitions held by various sabhas including Bangalore Gayana Samaj and The Academy of Music to name a few. He had the honour of being a guest on "Chat on the Mat" Programme of Radio 91FM.

Top percussionists like Arjwl Kumar, Giridhar Udupa, H S Sudheendhra, Sukanya Ramgopal, N Amrith, Cheluvaraj, Shreeshyla, Ramanujam, M T Rajakesari and others have accompanied Aneesh in his solo concerts.
